This is the final push to get shooters signed up for the first round of the Mattson Munitions Summer Long Range Rifle League. If you want in, now is the time. Your first target submission is due June 2nd, 2026.
Final Chance to Jump In Before Round One Closes
We are kicking off the first year of the Mattson Munitions Summer Long Range Rifle League, and the first submission deadline is coming fast. This league is meant to be fun, fair, flexible, and a good way for local shooters to get out, test their rifles, and push themselves at distance.
This is year one. It will not be perfect, and that is okay. The goal is to figure out what works, what does not, and grow this into a larger yearly event. If you want to be part of building it from the start, get registered and get your first round in before the end of the month.

First target photo submission is due before the end of the month.
League Fee
$50 per shooter
Helps cover targets, scoring, trophies, safety items, and final shoot-off costs.
Divisions
Youth: 17 and under
Adult: 18 and over
League Target Photo Submission Deadlines
Shooters will have approximately two weeks to complete each league round and submit their official target photos. Clear target photos must be emailed in before each deadline. Targets must be dated and signed by both the shooter and witness before submissions will be accepted.

Paid registration and completed waiver must be submitted before any score submissions will be accepted. Late, blurry, unsigned, incomplete, or questionable target submissions may not count.
Before Your Target Submission Will Be Accepted
To keep everything fair and organized, the following must be completed before target submissions will be accepted:
- League fee must be paid.
- Waiver must be printed, signed, and emailed back.
- Registration must be submitted.
- When registering, put Rifle League in the comment box.

Course of Fire
The league is simple. Shoot what you brought, follow the rules, use the official targets, and submit clear photos by the deadline.
Best 4 shots count at each main distance. The optional 500-yard bonus is hit or miss only. Shoot 4 shots at 500 yards. Each hit is worth 1 extra point.
How Scoring Works
Scoring is based on the printed score rings on the official Champion Score Keeper targets. Score each shot by the ring it lands in. If a shot breaks a scoring line, score it as the higher-value ring.
- 5 shots at 100, 200, 300, and 400 yards.
- Best 4 shots count at each main distance.
- Maximum score per main distance is 40 points.
- Main course maximum is 160 points.
- 500-yard bonus is 4 shots, hit or miss.
- Each 500-yard hit is worth 1 extra point.
- Maximum 500-yard bonus is 4 extra points.

Official league targets must be used for scoring. Targets can be ordered online using the info below or picked up at Mattson Munitions.

Need Ammo for the League?
Mattson Munitions can help order ammo for shooters if needed. If we can get enough shooters wanting the order, we may be able to put together a better bulk order and pass along a good discount.
If you need ammo, let us know what caliber, bullet weight, brand preference, and approximate quantity you are looking for. The more shooters we can group together, the better chance we have at getting better pricing.
Submitting Target Photos
- Each target must be clearly labeled with yardage: 100, 200, 300, 400, or 500 bonus.
- Each target must be dated.
- Each target must be signed by the shooter and witness.
- The whole target must be in the photo.
- The photo must be clear enough to score.
- Each target should only have 5 holes or less.
- If a target has more than 5 holes, it may not count.

Rifle & Equipment Rules
- Shoot what you brought.
- .30 caliber or smaller.
- No magnums.
- Bolt guns and gas guns welcome.
- Factory and custom rifles welcome.
- Suppressors and muzzle brakes allowed.
- Bags and bipods allowed.
- No benchrest rifle holders, lead sleds, rifle vises, mechanical rests, or return-to-battery setups.
- Shooter must control the rifle.
Range / Club Membership
You must be a current paid member of the range or club where you shoot your league targets. Range membership fees, guest fees, access fees, or club dues are not included in the Mattson Munitions league fee.
Make sure your range has the required distances: 100, 200, 300, and 400 yards, plus the optional 500-yard bonus distance if you choose to shoot it.

Mattson Munitions will be shooting at the Ludden Sportsmen Club Range. Details for Ludden are included below if you choose to shoot there or are already a member.

Help Us Build the Range List
If you plan to shoot at a different range near you, please email the range name, location, contact info, membership details if known, and available distances to info@mattsonmunitions.com. We would like to post suggested range options for other shooters as the league grows.
Safety Comes First
- All shooters must complete the waiver before shooting.
- No alcohol or drugs before or during shooting.
- Shooters under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
- Eye and ear protection required.
- Chamber flags required when rifles are not actively being fired.
- Actions open when not firing.
- No handling firearms while people are downrange unless directed.
- Unsafe shooters may be removed from the league.
Final Shoot-Off
A final shoot-off is planned for the weekend of September 12/13. The final location can be discussed and announced closer to the end of the season. The goal is to make it a fun full-day tailgate-style event if everything lines up. Trophies will be awarded to the top Youth and Adult shooters.
Suppressor Demo Opportunity
Mattson Munitions will provide Liberty Precision Machine demo cans when possible. LPM suppressors are made in Dickinson, North Dakota, and will be available for purchase through Mattson Munitions. This is a great chance to see and hear the difference while shooting and observing.
